Oral history interview with Ezrum Massey, Pat Bomar, and Linda Bomar, 1978 May 24 and 29.

Interviews with Ezrum Massey, founder of Denton Roofing and Metal Works, and Pat and Linda Bomar, owners and operators of Denton Roofing and Metal Works. Massey discusses his schooling and early life, as well as his construction and other work background. He recalls his service in the Army and his sheet metal experiences there, the start of his partnership in roofing and sheet metal work, equipment and supply problems during World War II, and the growth of sales, equipment, facilities, and employees. Massey explains his methods of financing, his problems of finding, training, and keeping skilled workers, his views on expansion, company success, and competition, and the eventual sale of his business to the Bomars. The Bomars discuss their family background, education, and early work experiences, as well as his work experiences in carpentry, air conditioning, refrigeration, roofing, and sheet metal. They talk about their purchase of the business from Ezrum Massey, employee problems, and the importance of being self-employed.
